Electrical & Electronics Engineering Undergraduate Program

The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Curriculum is offered within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The program consists of courses in basic sciences, engineering sciences, engineering design, courses in social, economical and administrative sciences, as well as courses in Turkish language and history.

The program is concerned with theory, design and their applications to the fields of power, electronics, communications and control. The undergraduate program accommodates students who are seeking a broad and deep knowledge about the above disciplines.

The graduates will be able to find jobs in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, communication engineering, and control engineering etc. They can also assume leadership roles and managerial positions in a wide range of fields after undertaking on-the-job training possibly combined with additional management training.

The first two years cover basic education in mathematics, physics, statistics and engineering including algorithms and programming for computers. The fundamentals of electrical and electronics engineering such as electrical and electronic circuits, electromagnetic fields and waves, and signals and systems are also offered in the second year. The background in basic electrical and electronics engineering is completed in the third year: areas of study include, electrical and electronic circuits and systems, digital systems, communication systems, power and control systems and microprocessors. Senior students prepare an engineering project using their creativity, knowledge, motivation and current technological advances. In the senior year, a wide range of advanced topics for specialization is also offered to the students as well as core courses on industrial electronics, microwaves, antennas and propagation.

Depending upon the choice of elective courses from the program, a graduate will be able to pursue a career in one of the specialization areas offered by the department. BSc students are also given opportunities to be involved in research activities. They are able to work with Faculty Members and their research groups during their junior and senior years.
